Torriani worm gear slewing rings in landscaping machinery

Pruning company Haven is specialised in mechanically maintenance of greening. They do this for fruit growers, farms and industrial areas. For the pivoting motion in the branches saw owner Sijbrand Haven uses a Torriani worm geared slewing ring.

"The branches saw, with four blades, is pruning overhanging branches of 2-20 cm to a height of almost 9 meters," said Mr Haven. According to him, the next development, a flail mower with worm geared slewing rings, is already on the drawing table. "We're now going to construct the machine so that the worm geared slewing ring can be set in either on a hedge trimmer as a flail mower."
